Transport Operator - Cover Haverfordwest/Whitland (Milk)
At Gregory Distribution Ltd, we are currently seeking a Transport Operator for our sites in Haverfordwest and Whitland. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspects of transport administration processes and the coordination of the day-to-day running of this busy contract. The successful candidate will be based in both locations to provide coverage during holidays, sickness, or training as required. Flexibility is key, as this role will involve both day and night shifts and adapting to meet the needs of the business.
The position of Transport Operator involves:
Assist the management team to manage and motivate the drivers to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit and client service levels.
Own the day to day running of the milk operation, including dispatching the routes on time, monitoring work in progress and debriefing drivers.
Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety.
Answering all queries via email, phone and face to face.
Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
CMS monitoring and complete driver feedback/actions
Previous experience of working within the milk collection environment is desirable.
Previous customer service experience essential, over the telephone and on email.
