Finance Manager - Statutory Accounts & Tax
At Tarmac, ‘who you are’ matters. We are currently looking for an experienced Finance   Manager – Statutory Accounts & Tax to join our large friendly team based in Birmingham. Although the role is based at our Solihull Head Office, we are currently employing a flexible, hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office).

Finance  Manager – Statutory Accounts & Tax is a key member of the Finance Team. Managing and developing a multi-skilled team of 6, you will provide accounting technical expertise and guidance to the team and partner with key business stakeholders, building strong working relationships, in order to deliver the statutory accounts and indirect tax reporting programmes. This role involves working closely with wider group finance, business unit finance and the Corporate Tax team. You will be supported from a project management perspective by another key member of the Finance team who will project manage the statutory accounts programme and work closely with you and the team to manage the timeline, internal review process and audit process.
• Prepare and review high quality working files and accounts for Tarmac's statutory entities.
• Review tax submissions and ensure the accurate submission on a timely basis of all indirect tax items within the teams’ remit including VAT, Aggs Levy, Landfill tax and CIS.
• Partner with business unit finance teams and key business stakeholders.
• Ideally the Finance  Manager – Statutory Accounts & Tax  will be:
A fully qualified Accountant ( ACA/ACCA/CIMA ) with previous similar experience essential in dealing with complex statutory accounts and managing a small team. Strong knowledge and experience of preparing and reviewing sets of accounts and all disclosures including corporate governance/reporting.
Strong working knowledge of indirect taxes.
Able to deal with large quantities of complex data – excel skills essential.
