Nursery Deputy/Practice Manager MATERNITY COVER 12 MONTHS

We are recruiting for a Nursery Deputy/Practice Manager for maternity leave of 12 months at our exciting 1 year old setting in Flax Bourton, j oin Red Bus Nursery & Pre-School and become part of our outstanding team.

This is a beautiful setting which has already had one year of successful operating. There is an amazing team in place already but naturally we are still growing so we need to add to that. This role is two fold :

Firstly to deputise to the Early Years Manager, 2nd in charge and in charge in their absence.

Secondly, to take an active role in pushing forward quality practice across the age groups by working with the Room Managers and supported by a wider Red Bus practice team. This is a lovely role for someone who has some management experience but also has a passion for excellent practice and all the lovely work we do with our children.

We are an established childcare business and everything we do is about quality, we are graded “outstanding” by Ofsted in both our existing settings. We have been operating for ten years, and are well-known in our local communities of Coombe Dingle and Downend. At Flax Bourton we are too new to have had an Ofsted inspection as yet.

About the Nursery

The setting will be fitted out to the same high standards as the rest of the fleet. This 96 place new nursery is located in Flax Bourton in a semi-rural but close to local, towns, villages, and Bristol - we think it's a perfect location.

The nursery offers all year round care for babies and children from 3 months to 5 years between 8am – 6pm. Amazing new facilities, fully resourced with new toys, equipment and resources and with wonderful outside experiences for children.

The nursery is located on Old Weston Road, a quiet, leafy street a few minutes from the A370 which runs from Weston-Super-Mare all the way to central Bristol.

A few minutes’ walk away you will find Flax Bourton Village Hub, a local playground and the Festival Way cycle path.

We will be serving the local communities of Flax Bourton, Long Ashton, Farleigh, Nailsea, and Wraxall and more - with easy access to the Chew Valley, Congresbury and Portishead. Central Bristol and the M5 are also only a fifteen minutes car journey away

Who we are looking for

An individual who has at least 3 years post qualification day nursery experience and at least 1 year’s management experience.

To be considered for this role you must have a full and relevant Early Years Qualification and have knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection criteria, understanding of how to achieve the best possible outcomes under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

You must therefore have a passion for outstanding practice, be a team player who can work with and support the room management and staff to achieve their best and you must be organised and be able to facilitate operational matters as 2nd in charge to the Early Years Manager. A confident communication style with parents is also very important.

Your responsibilities will include

You will be responsible for sharing best practice throughout the nursery, supporting the delivery of quality childcare with your own knowledge of the curriculum and our approach. You will give support to the management of the rooms to achieve this and to ensure all areas are fully equipped with resources and skills. You will liaise closely with the company wide Early Years Practice Lead and the Practice Managers of our other 2 settings.

You will also be 2nd in charge to deputise in the absence of Early Years Manager in all elements of that role.
