Director - Pricing and Market Access

PharmaVentures is looking to recruit an experienced pricing and market access director to support the senior vice president in oversight, management, and delivery of all pricing and market access projects undertaken by PharmaVentures. 

PharmaVentures specialises in strategic pricing and market access guidance for pharmaceutical, biotech, and med tech assets in the pipeline, development, and deal stages. We undertake due diligence work on deals and we deliver payer and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) insights (primary and secondary) for assets in development. 

As the Pricing and Market Access Director, you will lead teams of analysts, associates, and freelance associates in executing projects for clients. You will contribute to other projects such as valuations and market landscaping projects with pricing insights. You will be responsible for delivering projects yourself where necessary and developing the work practices, efficiencies, and quality-assuring outputs. You will develop new methodologies and ensure the growth of the pricing and Market Access capability within PharmaVentures. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the associates, analysts, and freelancers responsible for delivering the pricing and market access elements of projects. 
  • Finesse and quality assure outputs. 
  • Where appropriate and necessary, deliver to clients pricing and market access analyses. 
  • Support business development efforts with proposals and attending pitch meetings.
  • Where appropriate contribute to other strategic projects such as market landscapes, partnering, and valuations. 
  • Deliver primary research with KOLs and payers to inform project outputs.
  • Deliver secondary data analytics to inform project outputs. 
  • Liaise, enhance, and work with a pool of freelancers to ensure the continuity and scalability of the business.
  • Develop and enhance new methodologies for delivering pricing and market access projects. 
  • Contribute to the methodologies of other strategic project types. 

Requirements :

  • At least 5 years in either consulting or pharmaceuticals, most of this time with direct experience in pricing and market access analysis and KOL research. 
  • Higher degree (MSc. or PhD) in life science, health economics, health systems management, or other directly related subject. 
  • Experience in managing colleagues to deliver analysis. 
  • Experience in the pre-launch aspect of the drug development pathway. 
  • Experience with primary research: interviewing payers & KOLs and generating insights. 
  • Experience with analysing and reporting pricing and market access data and literature. 
  • Experience or willingness to drive business development

Preferences:

  • An understanding of how licensing and partnering drives early pipeline development. 
  • Confidence with the uncertainty that comes from assessing the commercial and market access potential of early-stage assets. 
  • Experience with pricing and market access in US and EU markets. 
  • An understanding of how pricing and market access contributes to the valuation of an asset pre-launch. 
  • Experience of working with epidemiological data, forecasts and valuations.
  • Experience across a wide range of market access project types: 
  • Pricing analytics and analysis. 
  • Sub-national access experience. 
  • Health economic modelling experience. 
  • HTA submission experience. 
  • Payer negotiation experience.
