We specialise in consenting, permitting and licencing support for complex infrastructure developments and operations. We have successfully supported our clients in delivering sustainable projects in sectors including energy, industry, marine development and catchment management.

Due to continued growth in a variety of markets including offshore wind and in the water sector we have an opportunity for a Geospatial Consultant to join our expanding GIS team.

Job Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented person with excellent communication skills and technical ability in relation to Geographical Information Systems, data management and analytics who can apply these in an environmental context. In this role, you will apply these skills across a variety of projects, supporting colleagues across the Environment Group with tasks such as site selection, marine spatial planning, constraint mapping and figure production for environmental reports.

As part of the role, you will be assigned the GIS lead on some of our large-scale projects which will include the review and preparation of data standards documents, coordination of all data related activities during the project start-up phase and playing a key part in client and stakeholder engagement throughout the project. You will also be involved in developing some of our key geospatial services to support our clients and discipline leads.

Utilising advanced spatial analysis tools and creating online applications within the ArcGIS online environment will be required alongside producing high quality visualisations and other digital deliverables. You will also be required to coordinate digital data capture for field surveys. Experience of developing scripts and automation tools within GIS would be preferred for this role.

This role might be right for you if you have:
  • Advanced experience in ESRI ArcGIS product suite (including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) (other geospatial software experience would also be beneficial but not essential)
  • Excellent spatial data management skills and knowledge of BIM standards
  • Excellent cartographic skills with strong attention to detail when producing maps and figures
  • Experience of using ArcGIS ModelBuilder and SQL
  • Ability to undertake scripting tasks to automate tools and processes is desirable
  • Capable at organising and presenting data through web maps and apps using ArcGIS online
  • Experience of using survey tools including ESRI Field Maps and Survey123
  • Competent at leading large scale GIS projects and collaborating with clients and stakeholders
  • Experience in a consultancy environment, supporting EIA and consenting infrastructure projects related to offshore wind developments, waste to energy projects, flood alleviation schemes, mixed use development schemes, as well as industrial sites would be preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
