Job Description

We are a Global IT Solutions company, looking to bring in additional Project support, specifically working on Linux/UNIX.

Role outline:

As an engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping Linux and UNIX operating systems up and running to their maximum ability. You’ll be responsible for providing technical support along with being a leadership figure in the creation and delivery of technology solutions purposely designed to meet customers’ business needs. Continuous learning of cutting-edge technologies and industry/market knowledge is key for this position, and subsequently, implementing these where necessary. Maintaining these effective customer relationships to ensure maximum customer satisfaction is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing and upgrading UNIX/Linux system software on company servers and computers.
  • Creating UNIX/Linux file systems.
  • Setting up and maintaining user accounts and access management systems.
  • Implementing network and computer system policies.
  • Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Assists in designing and creating unified solutions that align with the customer's standards and products.
  • Provides basic technical consultation on current and proposed systems to customers.
  • Performs routine repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of existing systems.

Ideal qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in systems engineering, computer science or management information systems.
  • SC cleared, OR eligible for full clearance.
  • 3 or more years of experience in system engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming, or naval architecture.
  • Experience working with computer hardware, operating system software and desktop applications with a specific concentration in one or more areas.
  • Experience working with one or more structured programming languages (Eg. Python, PHP. Javascript)

Due to the nature of the 3rd party clients that we will be working closely with, we are looking for sole British nationals who already hold, or are willing to go through SC clearance.
