We are excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic team within the Pharmacy department. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) where flexibility on shifts patterns will be required.

Responsibilities :

  • You will leverage your extensive knowledge and expertise to provide invaluable pharmaceutical input on patient care within our hospital setting.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring the Pharmacy department delivers an outstanding medicine management service to all patients. This includes overseeing the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications.
  • You will provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members, ensuring they deliver exceptional medicine management services. Additionally, you may assume responsibility for specialized clinical services.
  • You will contribute significantly to the smooth daily operations of the Pharmacy department, guaranteeing a safe and effective medicine management service for patients, staff, consultants, and other customers.
  • You will actively provide clinical insights on medications to all patients under our care.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely medication charges is essential.
  • You will champion compliance with all relevant regulations, professional codes, and best practice frameworks.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Pharmacy (MPharm, BSc, or BPharm) is mandatory.
  • You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist.
  • A thorough understanding of the GPhC's Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Performance, and their practical application, is crucial.
  • A postgraduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy (hospital) or demonstrably equivalent experience is required.
  • We require a minimum of 3 years of GPhC registration and at least 2 years of experience working within a hospital environment.
  • Familiarity with the Care Standards Act and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Requirements is essential.
  • You must possess a minimum of GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English (functional skills level 2 evidence is acceptable).
  • A valid BOPA passport is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology is highly desirable.
