we have an exciting opportunity for a head of finance to join our high performing finance team here at wagamama on a 12-15 month contract starting asap.

we’re looking for a qualified accountant, with experience of leading a team, who can work closely with and business partner the uk ops director, developing and delivering insightful commercial analysis to achieve strategic objectives.

this role plays a key part in driving future business performance.
2 commercial finance managers + 2 finance analysts

lead and inspire the finance business partnering team of 4, working closely with the finance leadership team to set the team strategy + priorities
business partner regional director of the north, and be the financial expert for the region, delivering accurate management information which is simple to understand and easily read by non-financial stakeholders
ensuring analysis reflects performance against key business metrics, strategic priorities + latest trends
present trading analysis on both a weekly and periodic basis to the ops leadership team + the exec
play a key role in commercial upskilling across the business, by driving for both an understanding of and for improvements within the p&l
lead the team to deliver all 165+ UK restaurant analysis, including the distribution of a detailed suite of reporting (in both excel + fourth analytics); ensuring accuracy, that all deadlines are met and reporting is continually evolved to suit business needs
establish strong credibility with the operators, working in an engaging, supportive and objective manner, to ensure they are fully supported with commercial insight + reporting
work collaboratively with property and operations to produce investment appraisals and supporting analysis, that supports opportunities for estate growth within the uk
play a key role as an input into the financial planning process, including rolling forecasts, annual budget and annual strategic plan
work collaboratively cross functionally, particularly with heads of function counterparts, to deliver strategic objectives and commercial understanding
work closely with the group fp&a team as the wagamama representative for all trading performance insight


qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
proven track record of making complex information quick and easy to understand, to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
excellent excel/modelling skills
