Tutor (1:1) - Norwich Contract Type: Perm Company Profile "On behalf of our client, a high-quality professional provider of alternative education for young people of compulsory school age (5-16), we are seeking self-employed Tutors. Our client specialises in supporting children who cannot access full-time mainstream education and are at risk of significant short-term or long-term disadvantage. They offer bespoke education packages and 1:1 tutoring for cases referred by local authorities or other agencies, including young people excluded from school or at risk of exclusion, those with disrupted education due to domestic circumstances, injury or ill health, and young people involved in or at risk of criminality. Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all staff are expected to share this commitment." Job Profile "The successful Tutor will have experience with the UK curriculum and working with children with special educational needs (SEN). This role involves working one-to-one with pupils outside the classroom, either in a quiet community setting or in the young person's home. You will have the flexibility to develop your own timetable, establish a strong rapport with your pupils, and make a real difference in their educational journey." Responsibilities Provide one-to-one tutoring based on individual needs and curriculum requirements. Develop and implement lesson plans and activities to ensure pupil progress. Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support their educational and personal development. Manage behavior effectively and create a supportive learning environment. Travel to various locations within Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex as required.Skills/Experience Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with SEN students. Strong understanding of the UK curriculum and experience with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD. Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel and own a suitable vehicle with business insurance and breakdown cover. A First Aid qualification is desirable.Hours Term-time only position, without guaranteed hours. Flexible schedule, Monday to Friday, no weekends. Minimum of two days' availability per week required.Package Pay rate: £15.00-£35.00 per hour, in line with Teachers, Unqualified Teachers, and Support Staff pay scales, based on qualifications and experience.
