Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and machinery within our facilities.
Duties · Working with the company’s maintenance management system Maintain X.
· Completing Total Preventative Maintenance Inspections/Servicing/repair as necessary.
· Attending faults to machinery or plant at all company sites to ensure continuity of production.
· The fabrication and/or manufacture of components for maintenance repairs.
· Requisitioning maintenance spares and components with authorisation from the Maintenance Manager.
· Advising the Maintenance Manager of faults that may require an external contractor.
· Assisting with the annual review of the Works Maintenance Programme with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all machinery and plant is inspected each year.
· Regular inspections of grounds, factory, security and general building maintenance.
· An awareness of sub-contract maintenance visits and assisting when necessary.
· The positioning of plant and machines in factory areas.
· Attending faults to customer site installations when requested.
· Responsibilities as listed in Quality Control Manual and procedures to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
· Ensuring that housekeeping of work area is maintained.
· Assistance in working for other departments when necessary.
· Ensure the safety, security and integrity of all plant, equipment, facilities and processes at all times.
· Setting up & maintaining a critical equipment database.
· Taking part in Operations co-ordination meetings and agreeing on work schedules and priorities with managers and directors.
· Key holder - locking up/security responsibilities.
Skills · Exceptional organisational skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Computer skills with Maintenance Planning, Microsoft Tools
· Apprentice trained, City & Guilds Qualified Mechanical Engineering/similar and industry experience
· Must have a high degree of self-motivation
· Team work ethos all functions (Engineering, Productions, Quality Management)
