We are working with an innovative manufacturer of critical safety products for multiple applications in their search for a new Production Engineer.
The role will provide engineering support for the introduction and manufacturing of company products by determining and implementing the most appropriate methods and equipment for production need.
The Production Engineering team consists of 15 members.
Working between office, lab and factory floor the team provide Engineering support to the production team, Project teams and other stakeholders as required.
The team also provide advice, knowledge, expertise and Engineering services to other departments as required.
Take responsibility for housekeeping and 5S within own work area.
* Support / lead root cause analysis workshops as necessary.
* Devise and document working methods to ensure the Production Process is robust.
* Implement & take ownership of appropriate process controls (Including assembly process control charts, control plans, standard operating procedures, process instructions, risk assessments, PUWER, COSHH, etc).
* Working with suppliers design, order and control jigs, fixtures, production tooling and associated documentation within own area of responsibility.
* Work with maintenance and production team members to ensure effective PM/TPM implementation and support.
HNC in Mechanical /Production Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools and techniques.
* PLC programming and faultfinding would be advantageous
