Cold Store Operative Ashford £28,558.40 + OT Opportunities 2pm-10pm 1 in 4 Saturday day shift (8am-4pm) Our client is currently seeking a full time permanent Cold Store Operative for their FMCG company based close to Ashford. Job Summary; Working in the Cold Store environment which runs at -20 Degrees Celsius, the role involves: Loading and unloading vehicles with Ride-on Pallet Trucks Occasionally unloading containers with loose cases. Locating and retrieving pallets into and out of the racking using a Reach Truck. Case handling when re-working stock or picking orders. Checking in receipted goods. Complete picking and loading documents when picking and loading orders for despatch. Using a Counterbalance Truck to unload, move pallets and using the clamp attachment to de-top cases off of pallets. Teamwork; Can do attitude - L ead by example and take a hands-on operational approach. Ensure there is a close working relationship between members of the team within the department and site. Be proactive in helping other departments find solution to problems. Communication; Maintain a high level of communication with your colleagues to ensure efficient team working when carrying out various tasks. Customer Care Achieve personal KPIs Ensure and maintain quality of the product. Eliminate Non-conformances (Job right first time). Responsibilities & Expertise Constantly strive to increase operational performance. Maintain a high level of accuracy Good working knowledge of the routine and any machine operations. Optimize efficiency whilst maintaining and improving standards. Liaise with the Engineering on preventative maintenance and breakdowns to minimise the down time of equipment Maintain a clean and safe working environment Please note that this list is not exhaustive and will be subject to workload at the time. Compliance Constant attention to safe working practices, your own as well as that of other team members. Personally adhere to all prescribed working practices to ensure that the Cold Store operates to the highest of standards and efficiency possible. Personally comply with all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities. Implement effective corrective actions to address any shortcomings. Qualifications and Experience Reach Truck Licence required. Ride-On Truck Experience preferred. Counterbalance Truck Experience preferred. Previous warehouse experience preferred.
