Job Title: Electrical Buyer

Position Overview: As the Electrical Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of my client's projects by managing the procurement of electrical materials and equipment. Your responsibilities will include sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical components while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery.

Procurement Management: Lead the procurement process for electrical materials and equipment, from initial requisition through to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with electrical suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and agreements to secure competitive pricing, quality products, and timely delivery.

Identify and qualify new suppliers and products, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance cost-effectiveness, quality, and innovation in electrical procurement.

Monitor and analyze electrical procurement costs, identifying areas for cost optimization and implementing strategies to maximize value for the organization.

Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of electrical materials, ensuring adequate stock levels to support project requirements while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop procurement strategies aligned with project objectives.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations throughout the procurement process, including quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements, while also providing regular reports and updates to relevant stakeholders.

Proven experience in a similar procurement role within the electrical industry, ideally within a construction or M&E subcontracting environment.

* Strong knowledge of electrical materials, components, and equipment, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements.

* Proficiency in procurement software and tools, with the ability to effectively manage procurement processes and documentation.

* A relevant degree or certification in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Location: This role is based in Epsom, with occasional travel required to visit suppliers and project sites as necessary.
