The Role:

We are on the lookout for an experienced childrenswear buyer or a Junior Buyer looking for the next step who can hit the ground running. You’ll report into the Head of Buying & Merchandising and be responsible for the successful execution of a seasonal range that delivers our brand vision, sales and margin across all channels.

This role will cover all product categories (Boys, Girls and Baby) and lead critical path management. You will be highly organised with impeccable communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Contribute to the brand strategy – working closely with the Designers & Merchandisers to build a commercial range that is reflective of A&R handwriting

- Be aware of the competition; proactively gathering & analysing insight on colour, trends and pricing from the market across all categories and channels.

- Consideration of strategic initiatives, growth drivers and sales trends in reaction to trade performance

- Work closely with suppliers, maintaining relationships and ensuring KPI’s are met.

- Ensure margin targets are met by negotiating cost prices with suppliers in order to hit business profit targets

- Ownership of the critical path and overseeing the in country in sourcing office

- Work closely with the garment technology team to ensure product fit is of the best standard.

- Work collaboratively with the Design, Merchandising and Commercial teams to drive product strategy.

Ideally, you'll come with:

  • Experience in a fashion buying role.
  • Childrenswear experience would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience of planning and developing product with Merchandisers and Designers.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, flexible approach to managing high workload & ad-hoc tasks
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
