Fantastic new permanent opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager

An exciting permanent opportunity is available for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a successful and fast-growing data and energy organisation. The role specifically requires a background in business development within the Mechanical and Electrical sector. You should possess a strong technical understanding of electric and multi-utility connection works for commercial and residential developments.

The role offers complete remote work flexibility, with the sales area primarily focused on the South and Midlands regions, but it can extend nationwide based on customer locations. There are no territorial restrictions, and physical office attendance may be required only once a month for team meetings.

The primary objective of this role is to engage with potential clients, transition them to Account Manager roles, and ensure exceptional service delivery. You will lead M&E tendering activities, handle customer negotiations, and explore opportunities to promote other business areas such as data services, metering, and EV charges. The role emphasizes meeting and exceeding monthly sales, margin, and KPI targets.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Estimating and Technical Solution Team to deliver value-engineered proposals and tender packs promptly and to high standards. Detailed win and loss analysis, effective customer relationship management, and providing accurate market information to the business are crucial aspects of this role.

The ideal candidate will be a driven and passionate Business Developer with a knack for identifying new business prospects. This position offers a competitive salary, attractive annual OTE, and opportunities for continuous training and skill development.

Skills/experience and attributes required:

  1. At least two years’ experience as a Business Development Manager
  2. Experience within the Mechanical and Electrical sector is essential
  3. Strong new business sales and presentation skills
  4. Solid Account Management experience with exceptional customer relationship building skills
  5. Accurate reporting skills and data analysis experience
  6. Win and loss analysis experience
  7. Understanding of the design aspect of the industry
  8. Strong problem-solving skills
  9. Organized and able to prioritize work effectively
  10. Collaborative team player
  11. Self-motivated with a confident, friendly, and determined nature
  12. Flexible and adaptable attitude towards work
  13. Precise and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  14. Good interpersonal and rapport-building skills
  15. Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
