This is an outside IR35 contract, working with the Engineering Technical Conformity department within a luxury automotive brand.

They are seeking an engineer to work with the Vehicle Safety Certification team on a contract basis, based in Crewe.

Hybrid working is available.

You will be working with teams cross functionally throughout the Business to coordinate, document and deliver vehicle safety approvals as required by project milestones, gateway deliverables and by the Functional Managers.

Responsibilities include:
* Delivering both Type Approval and self-certification of safety systems for respective markets.
* Ensuring thorough compliance, the products adhere with worldwide automotive safety regulations.
* Identifying, planning, commissioning and witnessing applicable test work.
* Liaising with international type approval bodies.
* Advising the business on the certification of the end product.
* Producing and maintaining product certification documents.

About the Person:

The ideal applicant will have a background in delivery of automotive certification or have experience in a compliance role from another industry. Proven ability to manage large volumes of technical data combined with an ability to understand and solve complex and challenging technical topics.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* An understanding of Type Approval and/or self-certification and/or legislative processes.
* Sound knowledge of automotive regulations (or other related field).
* Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications.
* Be able to work on own initiative, taking responsibility for planning workload from high-level milestones.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access).
