Come and join one of the UK’slargest providers of complex care. We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an locum Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly therapy team, at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York, on a 6-month fixed term contract from July 2024.
Woodlands is a specialist Level 2 purpose-built neurorehabilitation facility, rated as GOOD by the Care Quality Commission. 5-acre plot, surrounded by mature woodlands and well-maintained grounds, we support up to 26 patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury. We are part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites nationally) and we focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation, and technology to meet patients’ expectations of their rehabilitation goals.
The interdisciplinary team, led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, delivers high-quality and intensive neurological rehabilitation; behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults.
Patients benefit from access to our neuro-specialist team consisting of a Junior Doctor, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Technicians, specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants.
If you are a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, looking for an opportunity to utilise and develop skills that complement working in a neurorehabilitation setting, we want to hear from you
5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.
Devise evidence-led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for our patients
Named Therapist duties to ensure cohesive goal-setting and therapy and coordinating discharge
Develop your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of Speech and Language Therapy assistants and students
Participate in internal training (induction, mandatory training, MDT in-service)
Participate in service delivery audit and quality improvement initiatives
