We are looking for a dynamic Senior Project Manager to join our team at Collett & Sons. As a key member of our Projects team, you will report directly to the Project Director and lead a talented group of project managers and engineers. This role involves delivering innovative, cost-effective transportation and installation designs, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure all project managers and engineers from the project team, are working effectively and efficiently, ensuring all projects are undertaken to agreed timescales and within agreed budgets.
  • Ensure the timely production of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), operations programs, and specialist equipment lists and requirements for both proposals and the execution of projects works.
  • Ensure the contract documentation produced by all the projects and engineering team comply with all current statutory regulations, customer and company procedures.
  • Ensure engineering design drawings, design calculations, rigging studies, and specialist equipment requirements are adhered to for both proposals and the execution of works.
  • Time management of the company’s projects team, to ensure all timescales are met.
  • Ensure the team plan the movement of Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AIL’s), including obtaining required permits and undertaking route surveys in a timely manner.
  • Attend site when required for the execution of the project, collaborating and supporting clients and projects teams in the completion of the project, including project program, engineering and SHEQ issues.
  • Provide technical support to the projects team and ensure the team respond to issues on-site in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop the project manager’s role, leading the project team and being ultimately responsible for all aspects of the project, either technical, budgetary, SHEQ, logistics, schedule, etc.
Qualifications / EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Team leadership skills.
  • Full driving licence.

Preferred, but not essential:

  • Previous employment in a related sector.
  • Transport manager’s CPC or logistics experience.
  • Heavy lifting, rigging or crane experience.
Location and conditions

The role is based at our Goole depot, but flexibility and mobility are required to carry out the task. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday with an expected 40 hrs. per week, flexibility in working hours is required to suit business needs. The successful candidate must be available to work away from base at short notice for long and short periods of time, as well as coping with unconventional working patterns as required. Additionally, weekend working is required as the needs of the business demands. 28 days Holiday per year including Bank Holiday, holiday purchase scheme subject to conditions. Company contributions to the company pension scheme is offered subject to conditions. Overnight subsistence costs are paid when away from base.
