My client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking a "Planning Manager" to join their established Submarine Business in a permanent capacity, based at their secure site in Cumbria. Don't worry if you don't live locally, as the business are only looking for applicants to travel to site, approx. 2-3 days per fortnight.
Please note - It is essential that applicants can obtain Government SC Clearance prior to starting. Some project also hold a UK EYES ONLY classification level, therefore, candidate must hold a sole British Nationality (No dual or Tri nationalities).
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Lead the update of the Joint Integrator Master Schedule (in P6) taking inputs from all Industrial Parties and the customer.
- Undertake analysis of the schedule
- Perform trend analysis of schedule performance
- Provision of EV ( Earned Value) reporting
- Provide assurance of the quality and completeness of the schedule data
- Provide reports including narrative where appropriate
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Project Management (tools, techniques, practices including Earned Value) and basic knowledge of other functions such as Commercial & Finance.
- Able to resolve & guide others in solving complex project-related issues, but the normal is to follow established procedures.
- Extensive understanding of the Business environment for own project and team.
- Strong understanding and experience of P6 including the analysis and integration of multiple project schedules.
- Ability to synthesis and to provide informed narrative of project performance
