Job Description: We are on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Data Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in expanding our gifting technology to a wider audience by building and refining models that enhance our services. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the retail landscape, especially in merchandising and product hierarchies, and a good taste level. A start-up mentality is essential, along with experience in training AI models and proficiency in Tableau.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data models to support the expansion of To&From’s gifting technology.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Leverage understanding of the retail landscape, including merchandising and product hierarchies, to inform model development and refinement.
  • Maintain high standards in data interpretation and presentation.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and visualisations in Tableau to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Train and optimise AI models to improve the personalisation and efficiency of our gifting technology.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data analysis and AI.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising and product hierarchies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and train AI models.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, and Looker for data visualisation.
  • Experience working with GCP data platforms, including BigQuery
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • A passion for technology and a keen eye for trends in the gifting and retail space.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a start-up or fast-growing tech company.
  • Background in e-commerce or gifting industries.
  • Familiarity with other data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python or R.
  • University degree or equivalent experience.
