Job Description

Job Title: Developer

This is a technical development role within a City Software Consultancy. The role focuses on software development within the Investment Management environment. The Applicant is expected to possess the drive and willingness to learn and be able to combine this with their proven problem solving and development ability.

The environment is professional with a client list containing major Investment Banks. Delivering solutions/projects is a major factor when analysing and solving issues.

Job Role: The following skill sets are desired for this role:

Software Programming

  • The role will involve full stack software development using a range of Microsoft and web technologies to deliver robust and scalable front end and middleware solutions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising junior developers and overseeing their personal development as well as enhancing our existing software development practices.

Business Analysis

  • The ability to learn the principles of Investment Management and within the Investment Banking environment. A willingness to learn about finance is expected.

Communication

  • Strong communication internally and externally with clients is a necessity. Investment Software prides itself on its customer service and high standards must be maintained in this area.

Problem Solving

  • The ability to identify and understand a problem by breaking down the issues into logical components.

Professional skills

  • The individual must be professionally presentable as there is a blue chip client list in a prestigious market.

Qualifications:

  • A Graduate with strong academic (A- levels) background and mathematically minded.

IT Skills:

  • Good working knowledge of C#
  • Knowledge of SOLID development practices
  • ADO.NET
  • ASP.NET (Web API, Web Services)
  • Microsoft SQL Server & SQL
  • Microsoft SQL Reporting Services
  • Web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular)
  • Agile/SCRUM experience beneficial
  • Unit testing/Test driven development experience beneficial
  • GIT and Azure Dev-ops for repository, builds and Continuous Integration
