Our client who is a leading Freight Forwarder is looking for 10 x Courier Van Drivers to join their team on a Temporary basis
Working Monday - Friday 08.Be responsible for the daily delivery and collection of all shipments and enhancing the customer experience at every stage. Specific Role Challenges (key focus areas/challenges expectedMeeting deadlines/working to tight timescalesPhysical demands - Be physically able to handle shipments while correctly following manual handling processesTo project a high quality company image both internally and externally and provide the highest quality service to our customers at all timesDemonstrate the ability to think fast and solve problems without negatively impacting our customers or the businessAbility to identify and report through the correct channels any sales/development opportunities.
Activities & ResponsibilitiesAccurately record working and driving hours to comply with road transport regulations.Complete daily safety checks, safe loading / securing load of vehicle, maintenance, legislative / regulations and adherence to company driving standards (including tachograph vehicles).Excellent planning and organizational skillsAbility to make good decisions and work under pressureAdherence to all relevant operational policiesComply with all applicable security procedures and bring any potential security breaches or concerns to the attention of their supervisorsHold a shared responsibility for own development and willingness to attend training courses that will be required from time to timeComplete multiple deliveries and collections of shipments of a variety of shapes, sizes and weightsMaintain a high level of attention to detailWork within your service centre team to deliver expected resultsSort and prioritise workload (including multiple route sort) to ensure time commitments are met.Check for 'cash on delivery' packages and ensure all monies are collected.Achieving targets in productivity, service, compliance and commercial.Adhere to customs / import / export procedures.5 ton License (preferred)Possession of, or would be prepared to obtain, a digital tachograph cardExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
