Net Zero People have partnered with a leading battery storage solutions provider based in the UK. They specialize in innovative energy storage technologies that enable efficient and sustainable power solutions for various industries and have over 10GW in pipeline. As they continue to expand their operations, they are seeking a talented CAD Technician to join their dynamic team. Position Overview: As a CAD Technician you will play a crucial role in the design and development of battery storage systems. Working closely with other team members, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and schematics to support the planning and implementation of the projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge renewable energy solutions and be at the forefront of the transition to a more sustainable future. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  2. Create accurate and detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and models using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  3. Develop technical schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists for battery storage system components.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations in all design work.
  5. Assist in the review and evaluation of design concepts to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Provide support during the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases of projects, including producing fabrication drawings and as-built documentation.
  7. Maintain organized project files and documentation, including revisions and updates.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design challenges, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  9. Stay informed about advancements in CAD technology and renewable energy trends to enhance skills and knowledge.
  10. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician or similar role, preferably in the renewable energy or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and models.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with battery storage systems or renewable energy technologies is desirable but not essential.
