SARIA’s UK operations have a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group’s companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company also produces biofuels and renewable energy and provides services for farming and the food industry. This is a full time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The position does involve travel to our other UK sites as required.
Carry out timely and effective evidence-based health assessments to provide informative information and analysis of medical concerns / conditions, along with recommendations regarding an employee’s suitability for work.
Conduct pre-employment health checks for prospective employees based on the risks specific to their proposed role.
Undertake occupational screening / health surveillance in accordance with health and safety legislation and interpret results and advise accordingly.
Undertake assessment of, and liaison with absent employees, to ensure an appropriate and timely return to work, including home visits where appropriate.
Proactively develop a wellbeing agenda for the business, in consultation with the Head of HR, to ensure that needs of the workforce are met and to ensure attendance to work is maximised.
Work collaboratively with HR and management to provide a quality service that meets the needs of employees and the business.
Assist with the development of occupational health, health and safety policies and procedures and the evaluation of these in relation to the business objectives.
Provide reports and statistical data on health initiatives.
Support with the design and provision of focused health promotion and educational training for employees in line with the Company’s wellbeing initiative.
Hold a FOM Diploma in Occupational Health Practice and hold up-to-date CPR / First Aid Certification.
Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Experience working in a similar role in the private sector, preferably in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
Be proficient in conducting health screenings and assessing work environments to implement effective interventions.
Have good knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, regulations, and best practices.
