Job Type: Full-Time.
The post holder will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Head of Education and Student Experience Strategy Projects, Director of the Education Office and Head of Strategic Projects, the Vice Provost (Education and Student Experience) and Registrar and University Secretary in the implementation of the University's priorities relating to Education and the wider Student Experience. The post holder will be heavily involved in stakeholder engagement, working with academic and support departments across the University and actively developing personal relationships within areas of the university currently under-represented in Education Office initiatives. They will need the ability to establish and develop strong working relationships with senior professional and academic staff across the University as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships with the students' union, and the broader student body. The post holder will be expected to have experience of working and running projects within a higher education environment, as well as a firm understanding of learning, teaching and the student experience within the subject areas taught by the University.
The post holder will be expected to be autonomous in decision-making in relation to areas within their remit and to take on a senior role in project conception, development and implementation. This will include, for example, being the senior member of Education Office staff leading collaborative projects with academic departments, developing risk registers for a portfolio of projects, and chairing project boards.
The post holder will be a key member of the Education Office, responsible for line managing team members and managing budgets. They will be key to delivering ambitious programmes to implement the University's vision, aims and priorities for education and the wider student experience.
Manage the design and delivery of the University's commitments in its APP to support students from widening participation backgrounds in their transition to the university, and related initiatives while studying, ensuring effective project coordination, communication, financial approval and regular reporting of progress.
