Our client is a significant Main Contractor in the North East, renowned for delivering high-quality Design and Build (D&B) projects. Their portfolio shows a variety of significant schemes across the commercial, residential, and public sectors.

They are seeking an experienced and motivated Design Manager to join their North East team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating the design process for key D&B schemes, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.

Design Management: Oversee the design process from inception to completion, ensuring design solutions meet project specifications and client requirements.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design team, including architects, engineers, and consultants, to deliver cohesive and integrated design solutions.
Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on design-related matters, providing updates and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Planning: Develop and manage design schedules, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones in line with project timelines.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous design quality control procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Cost Management: Work closely with the commercial team to manage design budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial objectives are met.
Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical guidance and support to the project team, resolving design issues and ensuring best practices are followed.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth project delivery.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate design risks, ensuring potential issues are addressed proactively.
Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in Design Management within the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor.
Proven track record of successfully delivering D&B projects.
Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in design software and project management tools.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
