Hello, My client in Southend-On-Sea is looking for a tool maker due to expansion. Job Description A position has arisen for an apprenticed-trained mechanical engineer at our facility based in Shoeburyness, Essex. Our ideal candidate would be a tool-maker with EDM operating experience. However, we would also consider applications from CNC machinists with the appropriate mechanical engineering background who wish to train in EDM. There may also be an opportunity for both a junior and senior position for the right candidates. Skills and Abilities preferred:

  • Be able to manufacture jigs, fixtures and bespoke tooling for injection moulds and ancillary parts including the ability to make modifications/ repairs;
  • Use CAD/CAM software including 3D data manipulation. (we operate solidworks / AutoCAD and Visi);
  • Operate all traditional manual tool-room machinery i.e. mills grinders, drills, lathes and have experience using CNC machinery and programming;
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Adaptable team player;
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines;
  • Responsible attitude towards Health & Safety
The position of Tool Maker/ CNC machinist offers an interesting and varied job for an individual who has both practical engineering skills and ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality standards of workmanship. Since relocating to our site in Shoeburyness we have invested a sizable amount in machinery and upgrading our workshop facilities.
