  • This key role will see you delivering second line of defence oversight (2LOD) of algorithmic and electronic trading activities

What you'll do

In your new role, you’ll be providing 2LOD oversight of the management of risks associated with algorithmic and electronic trading activities globally. You’ll also be providing an oversight of material change processes and algorithmic trading controls and processes.

You’ll also be:

  • Contributing to the delivery and validation of periodic self-assessments of compliance with regulatory requirements on algorithmic and electronic trading
  • Undertaking reviews of material risks and of adherence across all operational risk standards to inform risk management
  • Contributing to the design, development and implementation of the 2LOD approach to oversee risks associated with NWM's algorithmic and electronic trading activities globally
  • Analysing the risk profile and providing strategic direction to the business on the adequacy of their eTrading specific risk identification and mitigation strategies, frameworks and plans
The skills you'll need

To thrive in this role, you’ll need experience in financial services, with a proven track record of applying controls to manage algorithmic trading-related risk in a complex financial services organisation.

You’ll also have knowledge of the regulatory environment relevant to large, complex financial services organisations with particular focus on regulation relevant to algorithmic trading, framework design and deployment.

Furthermore, you’ll have:

  • A good understanding of operational risks relevant to algorithmic and electronic trading, including key technology processes, and demonstrable track record in delivering appropriate oversight and challenge of 1LOD management of these risks
  • A strong track record of delivery across multiple businesses, areas involving complex stakeholders, process and technology issues
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organisational and influencing skills to resolve conflict and complex problems
