Job Description Energy Aspects has an exciting, newly created opportunity for a well-rounded Power Analyst to join our growing research team, based out of London. You will need to have some experience in power market analysis as well as strong data skills working mostly in excel.
This individual will need to help develop our in-house power model, research changes to Europe's electricity system, and help derive insights that will shape our forecasts over the short- to mid-term. Our clients value our forecasts and market calls and our analytical work is fully focused on creating forward looking views. You must be able to work independently, as well as be capable of planning and prioritising to achieve success. Working with our Asia analysts to develop similar models for markets with decent data availability.
Ensuring the transparency of the Python model through visualisation tools and creating input sheets that will allow for quick scenario analysis.
Tracking developments in the European power market, including capacity buildouts and declines, as well as policy changes.
Writing analytical pieces focusing on power prices and demand for thermal generating fuels{{{{:}}}} gas, coal and oil products
Enhancing the european gas and power teams existing data processes
Continuously seeking to increase your market knowledge and widen your network of contacts.
Strong Excel skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a range of analysts and meet project deadlines.
Some experience in writing reports and presenting views
