The Role We’re looking for an experienced and curious Freelance Senior Strategist to join our team, working on a sprint and project basis across youth, brand, and education briefs for some of the world’s biggest organisations. From global FMCG brands to purpose-led institutions, you’ll help define how to create meaningful impact for young people and measurable growth in brand advocacy, working collaboratively with other teams across the agency including Marketing & Comms, Creative, and Client Services. You will work across both our Foundation and Activation strategy offerings, demonstrating the ability to lead a strategic direction and see it through to a creative implementation: Using a blend of cultural detective, strong logic, and excellent communication skills, you’ll lead the first deep dive into client’s challenges through rigour and research, establishing the clear strategic opportunity and communicating effectively to gain alignment with our internal team. Working in close collaboration with Marketing & Comms, Creative, and Client Services, you’ll then translate our strategic foundations into compelling activations for young people and their influencers, delivered through a variety of channels. What You’ll Do Lead and define strategy across the project lifecycle: Translate client objectives into clear, insight-led strategic directions that deliver both positive audience impact and brand advocacy. Lead research and insight gathering across brand, audience, cultural and competitor contexts. Define the problem, the opportunity, and the audience motivation, turning complexity into clarity. Craft foundational and activation strategies that inspire creative and communications outputs. Use our Impact360 framework to design measurable impact models that demonstrate effectiveness of our work and turn them into impactful stories. Collaborate and co-create: Partner with Creative, Marketing & Communications, and Client Service teams to shape activations that bring strategies to life. Act as strategic guardian throughout development ensuring every idea aligns with the agreed direction and delivers the intended impacts. Present strategies, insights, and recommendations to clients with clarity and confidence. Evaluate and evolve: Work with our teams to measure and evaluate performance through both qualitative and quantitative methods. Turn data into stories, crafting compelling narratives that communicate success and learning. Identify opportunities for future growth, development, or innovation in client work. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience in strategic roles within an agency environment. A deep understanding of how to connect insight, creativity, and impact to brand advocacy and behavioural outcomes. Experience working with (or for) youth brands and brands that have activated purpose by engaging and supporting young people is a plus. Strong research and insight skills, able to analyse cultural, brand, and audience trends to identify opportunity spaces. Excellent communicator, confident presenting to clients and collaborating across disciplines. Passionate about creating meaningful, measurable impact for people and brands.
