About Us:
Impact Climate is a non-profit, parent organisation of Earthland Global dedicated to leading climate-vulnerable countries in the Global South to adapting their economies to 100% resiliency. Our mission is to guide nations through resilient and sustainable adaptation, with a focus on critical infrastructure sectors throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, South Asia, and West Africa.
Partnered with Politecnico di Milano and Technical University of Munich, our programmes empower governments in the Global South to take proactive measures in adapting to and mitigating the worsening impacts of climate change. By providing comprehensive solutions, from sustainable infrastructure planning to innovative technology deployment and resilient funding mechanisms, we enable timely action towards building resilience and safeguarding communities. As climate challenges intensify annually, our initiatives offer a critical pathway for countries to strengthen their adaptive capacity and foster sustainable development in the face of accelerating environmental threats.
Position: Global Assembly Board Director
Headquarters Location: Milan, Italy (Global and Regional opportunities available)
Overview:
This is a remote role. As a Global Assembly Board Director, you will be responsible for contributing to the strategic decision-making process, providing guidance and oversight to the executive management team, and ensuring the organisation's long-term success. You will also actively participate in board meetings, review financial reports and performance metrics, and collaborate with other board members to drive growth and impact.
We have several positions open, specifically for our Global Assembly Board and Regional Chapter Boards, with needs in nonprofit management, environmental advocacy, governance, and fundraising expertise. Our boards are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, representing a multitude of genders, races, and nationalities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to Impact Climate’s global programs and initiatives.
- Participate in high-level decision-making, including budget approvals, action plans, and technology adoption.
- Engage in fundraising and networking activities to support our mission and expand our reach.
- Attend and contribute to the Annual Meeting of the Global Assembly, a major multi-day conference where key decisions on budgets, plans of action, and program evaluations are made, and featuring discussions with global leaders, experts, and influencers in climate action.
- Ensure continuous renewal of leadership and fresh perspectives by adhering to term limits and election cycles.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive organizational culture.
- Review and approve major policies, goals, and strategies.
- Monitor organizational performance and ensure accountability.
- Maintain fiduciary responsibility and ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Actively participate in one or more board committees, contributing to focused oversight and strategic initiatives in specific areas.
Global Assembly Specifics:
We are seeking exceptional candidates from diverse professional backgrounds, including but not limited to:
- Corporation CEOs/Executives: Leaders from monopolies, conglomerates, and major corporations.
- Philanthropists: Individuals with a strong commitment to funding and supporting climate initiatives.
- Policy Makers: Influential figures in governmental and policy-making circles.
- Former Government or Multilateral Agency Officials: Individuals with experience in government or international agencies.
- Activists: Passionate advocates for climate action and social justice.
- Public Figures: Who can leverage their influence to advance our mission.
- Scientists: Experts in climate science and related fields.
- Investors/Venture Capitalists: Professionals in equity investment focused on sustainable initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, environmental advocacy, or related fields.
- Strong governance skills and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Ability to engage in high-level strategic planning and fundraising efforts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Dedication to Impact Climate’s mission and values, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion.
