Woodworking Technician (Shared Prosperity Fund)

Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO) is the largest County Voluntary Council (CVC) in Wales. In partnership with Monmouthshire County Council and investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund as part of the UK Government Levelling Up agenda, we are seeking a Woodworking Technician to join our TogetherWorks Team.

The Maker’s Space is a community-based project aimed at providing a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals engage in woodworking activities, develop new skills, and foster social connections. The Woodworking Technician will be responsible for maintaining high standards in our woodworking workshop, providing member inductions, conducting risk assessments, and teaching carpentry skills to diverse groups.

Working as part of the TogetherWorks team based in Caldicot, the post holder will be a skilled and enthusiastic individual specialising in woodworking and using a wide range of tools and equipment, ensuring safe handling and storage. An NVQ Level 2 or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery would be advantageous but not essential.
