The appointments will allow annualised / blocks of GIM, both ward in-patient working and a weekly outpatient clinic (potentially moving towards a rapid access clinic). The general medical emergency on-call rota frequency will be reduced to 1:11 weekdays. The evening and morning weekday ward rounds are undertaken by the Acute Physicians. Provision of a comprehensive inpatient medical service.
Undertake a weekly outpatient clinic.
To participate in the 1:11 Consultant on-call rota as agreed with appointee.
Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Geriatrics and general medicine via a. CESR or (c) European Community rights.
g MD, PhD, Masters in other subjects (Education leadership).
Should have completed a recognised training programme in General Internal Medicine.
Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, post-graduates and junior medical staff.
Commitment to the development of a high quality cost effective service.
Committed to ongoing professional development.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
