London-based Train Operating Company (TOC) is looking to employ a Fleet, Plant & Depot Infrastructure Manager as part of their Railway Engineering function and Fleet Management Team.

The successful candidate will manage the upkeep of buildings, plant, equipment, services and track at two railway depots.

The role will be to continually develop maintenance schedules, develop repair schedules and ensure that the requirements of the Environmental Management System are met throughout the Engineering function.

All engaged activities will be addressed to improve safety, efficiency & plant performance.

Reporting to the Depots Commercial Manager, the role will encompass the following tasks.

  • Maintenance of the inventory of plant, equipment, buildings, services and infrastructure.
  • Maintenance of associated technical drawings, schematics and technical data.
  • Collation, creation and modification of maintenance and repair specifications for plant and infrastructure including annual maintenance plan.
  • Being responsible for all maintenance and repairs of the buildings, plant, equipment, services and infrastructure at the two Depots within the remit of maintenance specifications, schedules and standards.
  • Organising & procuring all statutory inspections at the required frequencies for Plant and Infrastructure.
  • Maintaining Network Rail assets under the requirements of the Depot Lease Agreements.
  • Through management of the Permit to Work system, control contractors access to the site, ensuring safe systems of work are approved and worked to and that all contractors have third-party liability insurance in place.
  • Being the responsible person for the management of Legionella and Fire at the Depots
  • Undertake a programme of supplier audits for proposed and existing providers of Plants and Infrastructure services
  • Undertake projects aimed at reducing energy consumption and cost.
  • Ensure spend on Plant & Infrastructure adheres to budgetary levels
  • Administration of the depot fault database and associated performance scorecards and reports
  • Undertake Planned General Inspections as required, including formal inspections with Health & Safety representatives.
  • You must ensure that you and your staff always work as per the company Values. You will identify and action improvements in all areas of depot operation and service delivery as per the ISO9001 and principles of Plan, Do, Review.

It would be hoped that applicants will have had a least 2 years of experience working in a Traction & Rolling Stock environment and have some of the following qualifications; Fire Safety (Primary Module) or equivalent, Fire Warden Training, Responsible person FIRE, Responsible person LEGIONELLA, Safety Foundation Course or equivalent, NEBOSH certificate, Personal Track Safety (PTS)including AC & DC electrified lines, Setting Safe Work Systems (Designated Person) Network Rail, Quality and Environmental Systems, To hold a personal copy Rule Book, Incident Management, Manual Handling & possess a UK Driving License.
