  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs. Previous experience in implementing ASD strategies and interventions is essential.
  • A relevant qualification in education or special needs support is desired. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must, with the ability to effectively engage with both students and colleagues. The perfect applicant will demonstrate patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner.
  • We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be supportive, adaptable, and willing to contribute positively to our inclusive school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring that students with ASD are fully engaged and supported in their learning journey. This may involve modifying materials, providing one-on-one support, or facilitating group activities.
  • Support students in developing positive behaviors and social skills, using proactive strategies to prevent challenging behaviors and de-escalation techniques to address any issues that arise. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the care and education of students with ASD. Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other team members to review progress, set goals, and adjust support as needed.
