Job Description

Albany Beck are hiring for a Data Governance Analyst to work on a long term programme of work. Our client is a leading Investment Management firm delivering innovative solutions and unparalleled service to their clients. As part of the ongoing efforts to harness the power of data for informed decision-making, they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Analyst to join their team. This position will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining data governance standards for a large-scale Databricks project.

Job Responsibilities:

Data Governance Framework:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework tailored to the specific requirements of the Databricks project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data ownership, data stewardship, and accountability models.

Metadata management:

  • Establish and maintain metadata repositories for Databricks, ensuring accurate documentation of data lineage, quality rules, and business glossaries.
  • Work closely with data architects and engineers to capture and catalog metadata information for all data assets.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Define and enforce data quality standards and policies for the Databricks environment.
  • Conduct regular data quality assessments, collaborating with data owners to address and resolve issues promptly.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and best practices related to data governance and compliance.
  • Implement and monitor policies to ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Collaborate with business users, data scientists, and IT teams to promote a culture of data governance awareness and understanding.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate stakeholders on data governance principles and practices.

Databricks Cloud implementation:

  • Work closely with the Databricks development and administration teams to optimize data governance processes within the platform.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and enhancement of data governance capabilities in Databricks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data governance. Preferably large-scale Databricks projects although not critical.
  • Strong understanding of financial industry data and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
