Head of Legal Learning

HL Learn, the global Learning and Development team, supports the People strategy across each of the firm’s regions through a range of global, regional, and local development programs, workshops, e-learning, and other career development activities. The Legal Learning team is responsible for practice-wide legal training initiatives for junior to mid-level lawyers.
The Head of Legal Learning is a strategic role, working closely with various stakeholders to champion and drive the implementation of the firm's practice-specific skills.
Build on existing practice-specific training to set a regional and global strategy for practice area training.
Work with key stakeholders to ensure lawyers have access to best-in-class legal training.
Collaborate with HL Learn and Knowledge Lawyers to maximize the sharing of legal and practice-specific training resources.
Manage the Legal Learning team, including day-to-day needs, development, and recruitment.
Work with IT teams to ensure learning management systems are fit for purpose.
Ensure strategic legal practice-specific learning reflects in the firm’s approach to hybrid working practices and DEI initiatives.
Keep up-to-date with training and learning trends and integrate key practice skills into training.
Monitor uptake of legal learning opportunities and analyze training quality.
Participate in the annual budgeting process and manage the Legal Learning budget.
Qualifications & Training
The successful candidate should have previous experience in a similar role in a law firm or professional services entity, with a background in legal learning and practice-specific training.
Able to motivate lawyers to contribute to legal training.
Able to facilitate legal learning sessions and workshops.
Strong leadership, project management, and change management skills.
