I'm looking for a highly skilled Virtualisation Engineer to join my client's innovative IT team If you're passionate about virtualisation technologies and thrive on designing, implementing, and managing high-performance virtual infrastructures, this role is for you. My client needs someone who can optimise virtual environments, solve complex technical issues, and ensure their systems run smoothly, securely, and at scale.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design & Deploy: Design and implement virtualisation solutions using platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, and more, tailored to the needs of the business.
  • Manage Virtual Environments: Monitor and optimise virtual machines, storage, and networks for performance and resource efficiency. Ensure the environment runs at peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot & Support: Be the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving complex virtualisation issues. Provide tier-2 and tier-3 support for related incidents.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, ensuring virtual environments meet compliance standards like GDPR and ISO 27001.
  • Automate & Optimise: Develop scripts and tools to automate management tasks and improve efficiency. Collaborate with DevOps to integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Disaster Recovery: Design, implement, and test disaster recovery and backup solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud is a plus).
  • Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills, solid understanding of virtualisation concepts (hypervisors, VM management, storage, network), and proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
  • Education: A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional) are a bonus
  • Communication: Excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
