Ourclient is a global Non-Ferrous Metals trading company; part of aninternational group based in Central London.

As part of the Front Office team, the successful candidate willprovide essential support to the Non-Ferrous Metals trading team. Thiswill involve building relationships with internal and externalstakeholders to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of tradinginputs and associated risks. The role requires strong attention todetail and proactive thinking.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Supporting the trading of Non-Ferrous metals(mainly aluminium and copper) in accordance with the operationspolicy, and within approved trading limits.
  • Support riskmanagement processes (market, credit, legal, tax, etc.) appropriatelyand always seek to minimize the risk.
  • Support non-ferrousmetal trading with suppliers, customers, and other parties, toinclude, market risk, credit control, contract terms and conditions,laws and regulations, duties and taxes including VAT.
  • Supportthe daily close of the position and position monitoring.
  • Support hedging of daily position including FX exposures andaveraging and sending of pricing confirmations of same to externalcounterparts.
  • Timely entry of pricing and FX contract datainto our trading system.
  • Timely entry of trades into thetrading system.
  • Contract entry and management within thetrading system.
  • Provide details, data and information oftrading required by others.
  • Initiate new counterpart KYCprocedure liaising with the Legal Department and Risk Management team.
  • Complete credit line applications and consignment credit lineapplications, liaising with traders and Risk team.
  • Liaisewith the risk management team to resolve various credit questions andissues.
  • Check our contracts and counterparty contractsliaising with Legal, and Front Office to prepare various contractualclauses/amendments/agreements as necessary.
  • Support FrontOffice team to prepare various types of contractual documents,including guarantee agreements, consignment agreements, novationagreements, termination agreements etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevantsubject (overseas equivalents apply). In the absence of a relevantdegree, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience ofnon-ferrous metals trading including hedging, credit risk control andbasics of operations and trade document management.
  • Demonstrable experience of physical/future transactions in anon-ferrous metals Risk Management environment (such as Aluminium,Copper, Zinc etc.)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office PC skills –especially a thorough knowledge of Excel to intermediate level(arranging formulas, v look ups and pivot tables) in order to presentdata and recommendations clearly and accurately.
  • Professionalverbal and written communication skills in English language.
  • Previous experience of systems and/or workflow processimprovement (e.g., CTRM).
  • High standard of ethics andintegrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability todevelop effective working relationships.
  • Ability to learn,understand, comply, and adapt to various company policies, internalrules and guidelines.
  • Works well under pressure whilstremaining calm and methodical.
  • Solve problems on owninitiative and know when to ask for advice when needed.
  • Prioritises work under the general guidance of the linemanager/department manager.
  • Excellent time management skills,with ability to multi-task whilst working with tight deadlines.
  • Network in the non-ferrous metals industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and logistics operations is desirable.
  • A competency in programming languages (VBA/Python) would bebeneficial.
