The growth of the business means that we have an opening on our team for an experienced electronic test engineer.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Ideally qualified to HNC /degree level (Electronic Engineering).
  • Must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years in the electronics industry in a test environment.

 

Role and Responsibilities

The Electronic Test Engineer is a critical role, ensuring that our products meet specified standards and requirements. This involves conducting rigorous testing and inspections, analysing results, and implementing corrective actions to ensure quality and compliance. The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Follow and develop test procedures.
  • Complete high level PCB testing on complex and high value PCB boards on completion of build from sub-contract manufacturing.
  • Be able to fault find down to component level, as well as being competent in the use of laboratory test equipment.
  • Liaise with Peak’s in house manufacturing team regarding repairs to production PCB’s.
  • Undertake pre-acceptance tests on completed products and systems prior to entering the calibration department, to ensure they meet quality, performance and safety standards.
  • Document test results, and inspections accurately.
  • Identify and improve product testing tools and processes.
  • Work under our ISO quality and environmental systems.
  • The ideal candidate should also be able to use surface mount re-work tools in a small production/development environment.

 

Skills

  • Ability to demonstrate a logical approach to faultfinding.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of both analogue and digital electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of FPGA programming tools would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of PCB schematic/layout tools would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Good collaborator.
