Pilgrim’s Europe – the new name for the Moy Park, Pilgrim’s UK, Pilgrim’s Food Masters and Pilgrim’s Shared Services businesses – produces some of the best-known and most iconic brands in the UK and Ireland, including Fridge Raiders, Rollover, Denny, Richmond, Oakhouse and Moy Park. Alongside these brands Pilgrim’s Europe has a diverse range of industry leading own-label products in categories including fresh pork, lamb and chicken, working with all the major retailers and food service outlets. Our portfolio extends to authentic chilled and frozen ready meals, snacking ranges, added value and food service products.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team at Pilgrims Llanidloes. We offer a range of benefits along with a competitive salary.
Main duties to include.
- Responsibility for all technical elements of the factory, ensuring the site operates in line with industry leading standards.
- Responsibility for all food quality, ensuring that safety and assurance are measurably maintained to best standards by system audits and improvements were required – QMS and HACCP
- Manage the HACCP/TACCP team.
- Has overall responsibility to ensure all customers, Halal, food technical and certification standards to satisfy the customer and Group technical KPIs.
- Delivering a consistent approach to food safety, integrity, and product quality across the site by benchmarking, challenging, training and effective auditing.
- Maintaining the site’s ongoing customer approval status and third-party accreditations with a view to achieving the highest level of compliance.
- Acting as the primary site contact for our customer technical representatives and responsible for building collaborative, impactful and influential relationships.
- Responsibility for development and maintaining the sites’ reputation for self-managed technical excellence.
- Development and lead delivery of a step-changing technical continuous improvement plan based on the Quality Pillar Book.
- Setting direction, objectives, and performance standards for the site technical team.
- Lead the support and development of the technical team to assist them in realising their potential, ensuring suitable succession plans are in place.
- Support Pilgrim’s representation on relevant industry bodies, such as CCFRA MIGs, trade bodies.
- As a technical expert, actively contribute to the development of the Pilgrim’s Quality Pillar Book and Group Technical Strategy.
Qualifications
- Food Science/Technology or other related biological science degree (or equivalent qualification).
- Microbiological understanding.
- Knowledge of agricultural welfare standards
- Animal Welfare Officer Training (Abattoir only)
- Experience managing HACCP/TACCP and BRCGS standards.
- A leadership and management experience/qualifications
- Strong communications skills with the ability to engage and develop others.
- Well organised, excelling in managing multiple deadlines.
- IT literate including Microsoft Word and Excel
