We are currently recruiting for a Head of Tax for Europe . In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing European direct and indirect tax compliance and providing tax advisory and strategic support. This is an outstanding tax role with a real breadth of opportunity for a proven professional who has an interest in enabling and being part of a growing business and contributing to setting the tax strategic direction for the business.
This is a great opportunity to play an important role at an exciting time in our journey. In this role, you will:
- have responsibility for direct tax compliance, indirect tax (incl. environmental taxes and customs duties), statutory reporting, tax reporting and withholding tax
- maintain oversight over the tax activities to be carried out in key jurisdictions of France, Belgium and the UK, TBG Europe’s shared services provider and TBG Europe’s specialist tax outsourcer
- manage external tax consultants
- provide instructions for tax accounting and tax payments including support for the Finance Team in terms of taxation matters
- support in implementation of group tax policies and related strategy
- provide support with various internal and external tax audits
- responsible for monitoring ongoing tax legislative and regulatory developments and changes impacting the business, identifying and assessing impacts and communicating requirements and obligations
- identify and monitor tax risks relating to operational or strategic topics, identifying and understanding cross-border tax matters and ensuring compliance with relevant tax authority obligations
- find and implement opportunities for efficiencies and process improvement in group tax procedures
- identify opportunities for the deployment of effective tax technologies, in alignment with target operating models
- interface with global trade compliance teams for customs management. Provide support to sales, supply chain teams for product development, new markets and tax considerations to be considered
- support or lead other taxation related projects as they arise including Mergers & Acquisitions or transformation projects
- support the group tax team with the management and completion of annual tax provision calculations, including modelling requirements for emerging obligations e.g., Pillar 2.
- manage transfer pricing matters for European entities, including local transfer pricing compliance and notifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of indirect tax experience in UK, France and/or international tax for a multinational group or Big 4 practice. You will be a Qualified Accountant or Tax Advisor, with strong analytical skills and experience dealing with SAP and financial systems. The ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with key stakeholders is essential. Being motivated by a fast paced, dynamic and high growth environment is essential.
The role location Farringdon, London with a minimum of 3 days per week on site, and some travel.
