The Role:

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls promptly, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Stay updated on payroll legislation changes for compliance and policy adherence.
  • Professionally handle internal and external payroll queries for timely resolutions.
  • Submit HMRC returns weekly/monthly with expertise in PAYE, NIC, and government returns.
  • Collaborate within the team for accurate and timely completion of payroll tasks.
  • Assist in preparing payroll-related payments and contribute to general ledger journals.
  • Undertake general administrative duties and support projects for overall payroll efficiency.

The Person:

  • Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years within a busy payroll department at supervisor level.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in using payroll software.
  • Good working experience, knowledge, and understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with upgrading systems, desirable
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, utilise time effectively, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to use own initiative while effectively contributing within a team environment.
  • Understanding the importance of following established procedures and exhibiting a positive attitude towards change and improvement.
