The Role:
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls promptly, meeting deadlines consistently.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation changes for compliance and policy adherence.
- Professionally handle internal and external payroll queries for timely resolutions.
- Submit HMRC returns weekly/monthly with expertise in PAYE, NIC, and government returns.
- Collaborate within the team for accurate and timely completion of payroll tasks.
- Assist in preparing payroll-related payments and contribute to general ledger journals.
- Undertake general administrative duties and support projects for overall payroll efficiency.
The Person:
- Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years within a busy payroll department at supervisor level.
- Sound knowledge and experience in using payroll software.
- Good working experience, knowledge, and understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with upgrading systems, desirable
- Ability to prioritise tasks, utilise time effectively, and maintain composure under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to use own initiative while effectively contributing within a team environment.
- Understanding the importance of following established procedures and exhibiting a positive attitude towards change and improvement.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
