The Opportunity.

Following the appointment of Emily Shelley as the PA Media Group Chief Executive Officer, we are seeking a new Managing Director for Alamy. This position offers the chance to build on the foundations that Emily laid leading the expanding global platform after its acquisition in 2020. Emily has driven the business and its technology forward to respond to changing visual trends and customer needs around licensing, while remaining true to the original roots of Alamy as a home for all creators, agencies, and libraries to find global buyers and a fair contribution for their content.

Alamy operates as a stand-alone business within PA Media Group, and you will be responsible for all aspects of leadership and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer of PA Media Group.

You will be responsible for Alamy's trading performance including setting budgets, ensuring expected revenues and profits are met, and measuring financial performance through monthly management accounts and OKRs. Additionally, you will collaborate with the board and the PA Media Group Executive Team to agree and execute Alamy's strategy.

Your key focus will be driving sustained growth from both domestic and global markets and l continuing the digital transformation of the business, leveraging strong commercial and product skills to achieve profitable growth.

Ensuring high-quality service to customers across all aspects of Alamy's operation will also form a critical aspect of your role. Leadership skills are paramount. You will set the company's vision, communicate effectively both internally to staff and externally to appropriate markets, and take ownership of Alamy's success.

With a team of 200 people, primarily located in Oxfordshire and Kerala (India), plus a satellite sales team in New York, this role offers an exciting chance to shape Alamy's future success.

Essential Requirements.

  • Proven global business leadership ideally within the tech or media sectors.
  • Experience setting and leading digital transformation programmes.
  • Experience building and implementing growth strategies both organically and inorganically in dynamic markets.
  • Proven leadership of engaged global and remote teams.
  • Strong financial and corporate governance knowledge
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and a track record of delivering shareholder value.
