Our client, a manufacturing company in the Tameside area, are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for approx. 6-8 weeks to cover sickness. The role is on days, working from 8:45-5pm Monday to Friday. The position is based in the East Manchester/Tameside area and commutable from Stockport, Hyde, Openshaw Oldham, Glossop and other areas of Greater Manchester. There is also a callout rota which is worked one week in 3 but is only for essential maintenance issues/breakdowns. Hourly pay rates are flexible and dependant on experience. Requirements: To be considered for the role the following experience/skills is required;

  • Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering, ideally HNC level.
  • Strong manufacturing background in reactive & PPM work.
  • Solid all-round mechanical engineering experience covering things like bearings, shafts, rollers, hydraulics and other production machinery.
  • Responsible for maintaining engineering stores & parts & work to continual improvement of the PM system.
  • Flexible, proactive, able to manage own workloads and work closely with the Electrical Engineer on site.
