VNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineers for our client based in Needham Market, Suffolk. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and overseeing intrusive investigations
  • Conducting fieldwork
  • Gathering, analysing, and interpreting data
  • Creating factual and interpretative reports
  • Ensuring projects adhere to budget and timeline
  • Collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Utilising specialised computer applications
Essential skills encompass:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in working independently and as part of a team
  • Accurate task execution and adherence to strict methodologies
  • Meticulous attention to detail, discipline, care, and focus
  • Experience in soil and rock logging according to current standards
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Project management and organizational proficiency
  • BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in geology, civil engineering, or related fields, although other qualifications will be considered
Ideally, candidates should demonstrate experience in multiple areas, such as:
  • Preparation of desk studies
  • Assessment of human health risks
  • Classification of waste
  • Assessment of groundwater risks
  • Assessment of ground gas risks
  • Conducting ground investigations
  • Evaluating foundations
  • Preparation of factual and interpretative reports
Prospective candidates must be prepared to conduct and oversee ground investigation and contaminated land projects in the geotechnical and geo-environmental sector. They should also play a key role in enhancing the department's report writing capacity. This position involves a combination of office and field work, therefore, applicants must possess a valid UK driving license.
