An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Psychological Therapist to work in the South Kirklees Core Team: a well-established Community Mental Health Team for adults. The Core Team, in conjunction with the Trauma Informed Personality Disorder Pathway, aims to provide trauma-informed care to individuals with complex needs. You will have the opportunity to work within a friendly, fully integrated MDT who are dedicated to developing better services guided by trauma-informed principles of care.
This has included the further development of a robust Dialectical Behaviour Therapy programme Structured Clinical Management and a Mentalisation Based Therapy provision. Integrative, CBT, Compassion Focussed, ACT, Psychoanalytic psychotherapy & EMDR). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in positively influencing systems through promoting psychological ways of working, and who is flexible and creative in response to service pressures and patient needs.
This will include providing consultation, assessment, formulation, individual therapy, group-work and contributing to service developments and research.
You will be working with a range of professionals from diverse backgrounds, including psychological therapists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Support Workers and Occupational Therapists.
There is professional and clinical support from Principal Clinical Psychologists, as well as opportunities for you to develop your clinical interests in CPD and supervision.
There are also strong links with the University of Leeds Doctoral Training course for Clinical Psychology trainees. All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients.

The post holder will provide specialist psychotherapy skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.
They will provide highly specialist assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychology and psychotherapy professionals from other agencies and carers.
They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologist or psychotherapist. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.
To offer consultation, supervision and training when required by other agencies involved in the psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being of people referred to the service.
To provide assessment and treatment options for people experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems .
To continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills using training, experience, and supervision.
To provide specialist risk assessment of and intervention to people who present to the service.
To follow appropriate Adult and Child Protection guidelines in all Clinical work, including close liaison with all agencies.
To liaise and consult with the wider professional network in the care of the client.
To receive regular professional supervision from a senior Clinical Psychologist or psychotherapist and where appropriate, other senior clinicians.
Work with people who have disabilities.

Flexible.
Registered qualification in core mental health/social welfare profession.
Qualifying level course in Psychotherapy or equivalent at Masters level.
Registration/ Accreditation with the relevant professional accrediting body for the model of psychotherapy relevant to this post. , A Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day is essential (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability)
Knowledge of adult & child protection legislation.
A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years (subject to the need to act with fairness and equality of opportunity, particularly where the sickness is related to a disability and/or pregnancy).
