Job Description
CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Technical Director to work in Bristol. The position will need an experienced and dynamic Technical Director in the field of Civil Engineering to support a rapidly expanding workload and our client’s strategy in the UK. As the Technical Director for the UK branch, you will report to the Discipline Director at Headquarters in France and provide technical expertise and support for ongoing EPR design projects, in particular Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

Key duties will include:
# Acting as a technical expert for ongoing EPR design projects, providing technical support and guidance.
# Representing the company at conferences and technical seminars in the UK, sharing the company's knowledge and experiences.
# Collaborating with the Technical Directorate in France to ensure overall consistency in sharing experiences, tools, skills, and technical expertise.
# Engaging with other subsidiaries in the UK in the field of Civil Engineering to exchange best practices and promote cooperation.
# Orienting new arrivals in the agency, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
# Conducting internal technical seminars to enhance the skills of the team.
# Assisting the sales team and head of the UK branch in seeking new projects and clients in the UK.
# Providing technical expertise in the market and to potential clients in the UK.
# Developing a skills development plan for the UK agency team.
# Establishing relationships with institutes and technical associations such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) in the UK.
# Proposing innovative solutions using data and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to improve design and construction processes.

Requirements:
Background of working within the nuclear industry or another highly heavy industry sector.
Established career in Civil Structural Engineering, with a Masters in Civil engineering or equivalent relevant subject.
Strong academic background with a Higher education degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience of acting as a technical director/technical expert in Nuclear Civil Engineering.
Experience in the field of Nuclear Civil Engineering ideally in the UK, including on EPR design projects.
Technical expertise in Civil Engineering, with in-depth knowledge of current standards and practices.
Experience representing companies at conferences and technical seminars.
Coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
Ability to share knowledge, mentor, and train team members.
Management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, work planning, and commercial management.
Knowledge of the UK Nuclear market.
Assisting the sales team in identifying new projects outside of EPR projects.
Ability to promote technical expertise to markets and potential clients in the UK.
Proposing innovative solutions, leveraging data and BIM technologies.
Establishing relationships with institutes and technical associations such as ICE and ONR in the UK.
Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
Chartered status.
English language skills, both written and verbal.
