Job Description Our client is an internationally renowned Principal Railway Contractor working within the UK construction, freight and plant market. They provide turnkey solutions across Major Projects within rail and infrastructure, including design, engineering, project management, construction and maintenance solutions.

They are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Buyer, with a railway industry background, to join their established Procurement Team.

As a senior member within the procurement team, you will have primary responsibility for the procurement of parts and services supporting the maintenance plan and wider team. You will have regular interaction with key stakeholders, both internal (Finance, Commercial, Engineering etc.) Work with Commercial team to provide budgeting support, forecasting and period-end reporting.
Management of asset and maintenance list, raising work orders and ensuring that all items are sent away for repair in a timely manner.
Oversee the procurement of parts and services to support the maintenance plan.
ONC/HNC/HND/Degree related qualification in a procurement, commercial or an engineering related subject, or hold CIPS Level 4 qualification.
Previous railway sector experience essential, with freight/plant maintenance experience an advantage.
Understanding of best practice supply chain management tools and practises.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to control and monitor budgets.
IT literate and proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages and Procurement software.
