A Leading Software Development Company based in Suffolk are seeking an Infrastructure Support Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you are required to maintain Infrastructure and Backup environments to ensure the company meets uptime and business continuity targets.

The perfect candidate will monitor the backup environment and resolve any issues with backups, perform restores for teams when requested and provide the restored data to them. Configure new backups where required and add to required schedule. Maintain backup schedules where system changes have occurred.

Key Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar and environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure and Infrastructure best practice (Servers, Storage and DC’s)

  • Backup Skills and knowledge of backup concepts, Related backup products Veeam, Backup Exec, Rubrik (Advantageous)

  • VMware Skills, Virtualization Concepts,

  • Knowledge or experience in business continuity planning (Advantageous)

  • Scripting Knowledge (Advantageous)

  • Vendor Backup Certification, VMWare VCP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot backup related issues

  • Performs routine backup policy changes and ensures all backups are properly run and completed

  • Performs restore for Windows, Linux, Unix and NDMP filesystem; SQL and NOSQL databases

  • Liaising with vendors in providing support for Backup software and hardware related issues

  • Provide technical resolution to incidents and problems event related to Backups

  • Document operational best practices and procedures

  • Participate in 24/7 On-call support

  • Scripting with PowerShell/PowerCLI

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Virtual Environment related issues

  • Configuration and Maintenance of VMware virtual Environment

  • Liaising with vendors in providing support for software and hardware related issues

  • Provide technical resolution to incidents and problems event related to Infrastructure

  • Ensure that Business Continuity program components (Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessments, plans, strategies, etc.) are current, effective, and address the businesses requirements.

  • Support business continuity related initiatives, within responsibility

  • Systems Information Gathering for DR
